Hey, I’m Thaisha, the founder and creator behind The Journey Within, a handcrafted self care brand born from healing, growth, and pure intention.

My journey began during one of the darkest seasons of my life after losing my mother, my best friend, and my greatest supporter. Her passing shattered me, and for the first time, I felt completely alone. I kept waiting for someone to come save me, to swoop in and help carry the weight I was holding. But no help came. And in that stillness, in that loneliness, I had to face the truth: I would have to figure out life for myself, by myself.

That realization changed me. And honestly, I believe everyone eventually reaches a moment like that. A point in life where you look around and realize you are standing alone in one of your darkest seasons. And in that moment, you are forced to take your own journey within — to confront your fears, your pain, your purpose, and to rebuild yourself from the inside out. That’s where the real transformation begins.

As I navigated that grief, I turned to spirituality to reconnect with myself. Meditation was my first step, but whew, it was not easy. My mind refused to sit still. So I did some research and discovered candle meditation. That changed everything. The soft glow of the flame grounded me, and I found comfort focusing on its warmth and movement. I was burning through candles left and right.

Then COVID hit, and I was stuck in the house with too much time and not enough candles. I ordered a candle making kit thinking it would be a little hobby and maybe save me a few dollars on my meditation candles. And after creating the ugliest, non smelling candle ever known to mankind, I somehow fell in love with the process. Blending scent, wax, heat, and intention gave me a sense of peace and control at a time when everything felt uncertain.

What started as therapy for my soul grew into something bigger. My family and friends loved my creations and encouraged me to share them. My first pop up in Central Square showed me that this wasn’t just a hobby — it was purpose. The love and support that day brought me to tears and reminded me that while healing begins alone, it blossoms in community.

Today, The Journey Within is more than a brand. It is a reminder that no matter what life throws at you, you have the power to heal, rebuild, and glow from the inside out. Every candle, diffuser, and self care essential I create is designed to bring peace, clarity, and comfort into your space and help you choose yourself with intention.

This business is personal. It is my therapy, my purpose, and my tribute to the woman who taught me unconditional love. Through The Journey Within, I hope to help others light their own path back home to themselves.
